It’s no secret that Huntsville, Alabama has been one of the healthier real estate markets in the country through the up and down economic times of late. But, the reason the Huntsville Real Estate market has survived is because our city has survived!
With that said, we hear about it and read it all the time. The Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) act of 2007 will bring 1000’s of jobs to the Huntsville area. The latest status from Redstone Arsenal indicates that about 1/2 of these jobs have already been filled and the others are scheduled to be filled by the fall of 2011.
Lists like RelocateAmerica.com who named Huntsville their top city in 2010 remind us that we’re a desirable city. But sometimes it’s nice when you have a tool that helps you visualize relocation and the trends of people moving in and out of the Huntsville area.
Enter Forbes.com. Below you’ll see a map that helps us visualize how many people are actually moving in and out of Huntsville as well as where they are coming from, where they are going, and an average income per capita.
Reading the map is quite easy: The black lines are people moving into Madison County and the red lines are people moving out of Madison County. Keep in mind below is just an image. To get the full interactive functions, click on the image or follow this link to forbes and explore the map to its full extent. You’ll be able to click on the counties in blue to see how many people moved to and from that particular county. Thanks to my friends at AgentGenius for the tip on a great new tool. Enjoy!
