Location / Demographics

Meridianville Alabama is located in a huge and beautiful valley near the foothills of the Cumberland Mountains about 10 miles north of Huntsville’s city limits. Here, in this picturesque valley where Indians once shot arrows, this small exurb (extra-urban) community thrives.

Unlike the neighboring communities of Hazel Green and New Market, Meridianville’s proximity to Hwy US231 /US431 along with Hwy 255 makes this bedroom community an easy 15-25 minute commute to Redstone Arsenal’s Gate 9. Thus this  historically rural farm area has now  become home for many high tech commuters employed throughout the Huntsville Metro Area. In 2007 the community was estimated to have a population of 4,633 residents with a median household income of $63,620.

We would be amiss if when discussing Meridianville we did not simultaneously mention Golf. Yes, I know it may seem strange as an attribute of a rural community but with the Richland Golf Center, 10028 Memorial Pkwy NW Huntsville, AL 35810 half way between Huntsville and Meridianville and the 2 (yes 2) community golf courses;  Fox Run Golf Course, 870 McCollum Rd, Meridianville, AL 35759 and Colonial Golf Course, 400 Colonial Dr Meridianville, AL 35759,  Golf is a very popular recreational pursuit of this unincorporated community.

In addition to avid golfers, recreational pilots also find Meridianville a convenient place to call home, as the community is the location of the Madison County Executive Airport which features a 5,008 x 100 foot runway with extended taxiway which facilitates the service requirements of many corporate jets.

Neighborhoods and Schools

There are a variety of Neighborhoods and Subdivisions with varying price ranges in the Meridianville area, some having Home Owner Associations (HOA) and others not.

A few of the neighborhoods with active Home Owner Associations worthy of taking a closer look at are Bainbridge, Green Lawn Plantation, and Inspiration Pointe. However most of the neighborhoods and subdivisions do not have a Home Owners Association (HOA) and many people are attracted to Meridianville because of this attribute. A few worth visiting include Futurity DownsLaurel Bend, and Blackberry Farm.

Meridianville schools are provided within the Madison County School district and include Lynn Fanning Elementary, Meridianville Middle, and Hazel Green High Schools.
