There has to be a Main Street in every town in the\u00a0country, when years ago there was a post office and a hardware store and of course in county seats a court house on the square. There also use to be\u00a0grocery stores, barber shops, \u00a0and the world famous\u00a0Woolworth\u00a0general\u00a0store as well. In modern times however these have often been replaced by law firms sounding the court house.<\/p>\n

\"oldtownsign\"<\/a>The\u00a0Historic District in Huntsville<\/strong>\u00a0has 3 defined areas,\u00a0Twickenham<\/a>,\u00a0Old Town<\/a>,<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Five Points<\/a>\u00a0and each area has a distinct street sign so you always know where you are.\u00a0Twickenham\u00a0street signs have a tree symbol,\u00a0Old Town\u00a0signs all have the name Old Town on them, and\u00a0Five Points\u00a0signs use a star symbol and on the south side of the modern day square you will find\u00a0Harrison\u00a0Brothers hardware<\/a> dating back to 1879.<\/p>\n

The historic home style remains quite popular in the Huntsville area and in addition to homes in the Historic<\/strong> District there are several neo-traditional neighborhoods where new historically styled homes are plentiful and available as demonstrated in the following links.<\/p>\n
