Reflections of a Wife and Mom<\/h3>\n

Today has been a wonderful fall day, and frankly, a lazy day for me. It has also been a day of reflection. I suppose having our last child soon turning into an adult has brought about some deep thinking and what it all means.<\/p>\n

Last night was Senior Night for the Bob Jones High School Marching Band. Standing on the field with our daughter brought tears to my eyes and tugged at my heart. When my \u201cback off Mom, I\u201dm 18\u201d daughter lovingly kissed my cheek not giving a second thought to what her friends may think, memories flooded my mind. It was yesterday that I held her hand, walking her into Mrs. McCoy\u2019s kindergarten class.<\/p>\n

Time DOES fly…and flown it has. We are so proud of her and so hopeful for what she will give back to the world as she enters adulthood. Today, I\u2019m thankful for what I have and the wonderful friends that I choose to be surrounded with. Life is just simply too damn short to settle<\/strong>, don\u2019t you agree?<\/p>\n

Reflections of a Business Owner<\/h3>\n

Being a business owner is a love\/hate thing for me. I love owning my own business while hating being a \u201cboss\u201d. I\u2019m not very good at it…at least I don\u2019t think so. I reflect back on my husband pushing me out of the nest 2 years ago and me wanting to stay in it. I didn\u2019t want to fly….I was comfortable nesting where I was. Now, I\u2019m so very thankful that I did.<\/p>\n

I want to thank my amazing husband Tim. Had it not been for him believing in me, I wouldn\u2019t have flown. I couldn\u2019t have done this without him. The past 2 years have gone by in a flash and the accomplishments have been many. From our 2010 nomination for Innovator of the Year from Inman, to our Beta Brokerage placement…we have grown. Not just in size, but in self confidence. We are different, and in a good way<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

I think about all of my agents and know that I have made the right choices. My first hire was Kathy York. She believed in @ Homes Realty Group before our doors were ever opened. I have watched Kathy York flourish and become one of the best agents I know. I\u2019m SO proud of her and all of her accomplishments. She has been by my side since day one, soaking in knowledge, studying the market and protecting her clients. I watch Kathy York counsel her clients and hear her advising them….she makes me proud, over and over and over. I\u2019m not sure I\u2019ve ever thanked her for taking a leap of faith when she joined @ Homes, so I want to thank her now<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

As a Broker\/Owner, the first thing I ask myself when interviewing agents is:\u00a0 Would I trust this person to take care of my home buying\/selling needs?<\/strong> …If I have to stop and think about it, then I know they aren\u2019t a fit…maybe if all Brokers hired the same way, our industry would be a bit more respected. I\u2019m realizing I can\u2019t change the entire industry, but I CAN change the perception with my name on it.\u00a0 …And I will:<\/p>\n

‘We will always conduct our business through transparency and become trusted advisers. …I think we have done a fine job so far but realize there is much more to accomplish in an industry that is simply broken.’<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Here We Grow Again<\/h3>\n

With our new office expansion soon to happen, the one thing I do know for sure is, We will not settle. Ever!<\/strong> …As @ Homes clients, you will never have to settle for less than you deserve. That is my promise to you. That I know for sure!<\/p>\n

I hope you all enjoy this wonderful fall season and take time to enjoy what life has to offer…which is anything you can imagine it to be<\/p>\n
