Highland Park – No It’s not a Restaurant!
I feel like I’m writing a restaurant review and no its not Highland Park Birmingham, its so different. As a Realtor®, I drive all over North Alabama showing homes from $60,000 to $2million. Some of them are lovely and some… not so much.
So I get really excited when I find something new and fabulous. Such is the case with my new favorite little community in the Owens Cross Roads – Hampton Cove area — sweet and serene Highland Park. Stumbled upon it just this week with two different sets of buyers. I’m calling Highland Park my new jewel over the mountain.
Location, Location, Location
Literally Yards from the brand new (and architecturally stunning) Goldsmith-Schiffman Elementary School, Highland Park is located at the southern end of what I call the Taylor Road corridor to the east of Green Mountain. For anyone not familiar with this area, it is truly a mecca for buyers. Just west of the Goldsmith-Schiffman Wildlife Sanctuary, this area offers plenty of of kid-friendly sidewalks and level terrain.

Alabama Heritage – Designed and Built
Highland Park is an Alabama Heritage built community of 137 lots with a community pool and cabana. With homes ranging from the low 200,000’s to the mid-300,000’s and homeowners association dues of only $400 per year (only $34 per month), this neighborhood lends itself to buyers of all age brackets.
There are currently 6 homes available in the neighborhood ranging in price from $234,900 for a 2,400sf home to $279,900 for a 2,968sf home. In my opinion, the best value in the neighborhood right now is a brand new 3,007sqft home priced at only $254,900. That equates to $85 per square foot for a brand new home built by an established, respected builder. Outstanding!
