Blevins Cove, Double Tree & Valley Bend!
If lovely homes built in the mid-late 90’s in secluded small neighborhoods with full growth trees; is what you’re looking for, then Blevins Cove, Double Tree, and Valley Bend neighborhoods may be right up your alley.
Tucked between Grissom High School and the mountain the character of these local neighborhoods is best viewed and experienced. These beautiful Southeast Huntsville neighborhoods are quiet and serene with very little traffic and an interesting mix of home styles. When I mentioned these neighborhoods to my daughter-in-law (a Grissom alum) her response was ‘Yeah, that’s where the rich kids lived when I was in school.’
HOW TO GET THERE: There are two ways in, but my favorite is Bailey Cove south past Grissom. Turn left (east) at the light onto Willowbrook Drive. You may think you’re heading into the apartment complex at Brittany Point because, well… you are! Never fear, keep driving. 🙂
As you continue on Willowbrook you’ll find yourself driving through a lovely neighborhood of well kept homes with large mostly flat and some slightly sloped yards. These homes comprise the Double Tree neighborhood and sell anywhere from the high 100’s to 300,000.
Further back you’ll come to Wildcreek Trail, Valley Bend, Cross Creek and Smoke Rise — some of the streets that make up Blevins Cove and Valley Bend. Hilly and winding, the homes here are generally larger and range from $200,000 to $400,000. Most are 3000 square feet or more. If you can handle stairs, you can find a fantastic home and some amazing views since most of these houses sit on fairly steep lots. There are currently 9 active listings in these small lovely neighborhoods ranging from $230,000-$358,000.
