January 2009 Update
Since our last area foreclosure update Alabama and Mississippi once again ranked among states with the fewest foreclosures ranked 39th and 43rd respectively by a recent RealtyTrac report. Surrounding southeastern states didn’t fare as well: Florida ranked 4th, Georgia 8th, and Tennessee 18th.
However the news for Alabama is not all good, as foreclosure rates have increased state wide and within the North Alabama Area. Alabama moved up on the foreclosure rate list from 41st place to 39th since our last quarterly report of September 2008.
Taking a closer look at North Alabama Real Estate by county yields the following results ranked worst to best:
County | Monthly Foreclosure Filings |
Percent Rate Change | 1 in Every # Homes |
Morgan County | 31 | +32% | 1614 |
Madison County | 56 | +21% | 2465 |
Jackson County | 10 | +60% | 2502 |
Marshall County | 12 | +25% | 3179 |
Limestone County | 9 | -20% | 3212 |

Just wanted to say HI. I found your blog a few days ago on Technorati and have been reading it over the past few days.
Great blog!
Thanks so much David …I have to admit it takes a lot of work …but it does help keep us on top of things and our clients have been very appreciative of the wide variety of information 🙂
